..........I would have some startling revelation to reveal, and unfortunately, I do not! Woe is me and my boring life. I am currently still in my public health job search. Slow and steady wins the race right?? Well that ish sucks! I won't even go off (again ) on my student loan repayment tangent.
I have a couple new obsessions I would like to share:
1. Words With Friends (find me, I'm dope: sfowler05)
2. Charlaine Harris (I have read all 10 of her Sookie Stackhouse novels, her books are what the True Blood series is based on. What am I to do until May 3rd when the next book comes out??)
3. Jeni's IceCream (I try to limit myself to only going once every 2 weeks or so)
My Operation: Healthy Living is going well. Still not drinking pops/juice, using natural sweeteners and limiting my red meat. The next phase is boot camp. Thursday is my fitness evaluation where they take measurements and tell me unhealthy I am. Stay tuned :-/
I think one of my previous weekly quizzes was asking what my next tattoo should be. The winner was a giraffe I think, but I ultimately went in another direction. The 3 elephants on my back (which I already had) represent my family: mom, sister and I. Elephants are animals who grieve, remain in familial units and even go back to graves to visit where their family members passed, a true rarity in the animal kingdom. Very rarely in the wild do you see elephants locking from trunk to tail. This type of behavior only happens in great times of peril, for example a sand storm, so the family remains together. Anyone who knows me intimately knows my mom and sister are the most important people in my life, and we have definitely faced trials together. So my most recent tattoo, the tree below, like the elephants are native to Africa, and represents planting my own roots, my family tree and the beginning. I plan on continuing to add to this theme so we shall see how it all ends up.
In closing, this blog will be a short one. Just wanted to share the importance of letting people know how much you care about them while they are here. Life is so incredibly short. My grandfather passed suddenly at the end of January and I thought I would have more time with him to build the type of relationship I always wanted. So if you have those thoughts, do it now, because there is nothing worse then regret. Someone I went to high school with also passed last week, so this advice is just not for this who have elderly family/friends. Give roses when you still have them here.
Now go find me on Words With Friends!!!! :-D
